When it comes to traveling with a baby or toddler, the goals are simple: optimize for comfort, ease, and simplicity. You want to be able to enjoy the journey, but realistically, sometimes, you just need to power through to that destination!
When dressing our little one for longer trips, there are a few things we keep in mind:
- Comfort: this is #1. To be able to relax on the road, our kiddo needs to be comfy. That means you're looking for a soft fabric, and ideally something that can dry quickly if and when those inevitable spills and dribbles happen. There's nothing more uncomfortable than feeling soggy!
- Breathability: predicting temperature on a plane or even car or RV can be tough. We recommend opting for something warm enough to ensure comfort (and sun coverage on the road), but light enough to not overheat.
- Minimizing changes: stopping for an outfit change in many cases is unavoidable (blowouts happen!), but we aim to minimize the need. Clothes are that odor- or bacteria- resistant are ideal for this. A little sweat and minor messes are no problem, and the clothes do a better job keeping their shape and not stretching out.
With all that in mind, our favorite items for travel are First Peak long-sleeve Ts and bodysuits. Give them a try on your next trip!
